How to choose the right one
-
Check the base width
The footprint of the fixture determines its stability on the floor. A wider base generally offers better balance for heavy water pressure. The ALGRTS Waterfall Freestanding Tub Faucet features a 6-inch width. This narrower footprint still provides a solid foundation for the 36.3-inch height. You should verify that the base diameter fits your available floor space without crowding the tub. Ensure the center of gravity aligns with your tub’s edge for safe, wobble-free use during filling.
-
Consider spout flexibility
A fixed spout directs water in one direction, while a swivel spout allows you to aim the flow. This feature is useful for filling the tub from different angles or rinsing the tub walls. The ALGRTS Brushed Nickel Floor Mount Tub Filler includes a swivel spout. This design gives you control over where the water lands. You can adjust the stream to avoid splashing outside the tub basin. This flexibility is particularly helpful in tight bathrooms where precise positioning matters for daily use.
-
Evaluate shower head modes
The included shower head determines how you can use the water beyond filling the tub. Dual-mode sprayers typically offer a standard flow and a more intense spray. The ALGRTS Waterfall Freestanding Tub Faucet comes with a dual-mode sprayer. This allows you to switch between a gentle rinse and a stronger spray for cleaning. You can use this feature to wash the tub interior or provide a quick shower. Check if the mode switch is easy to operate while the water is running for convenience.
-
Assess the weight
The weight of the fixture indicates the amount of material used in its construction. Heavier units often feel more substantial and durable. The ALGRTS Waterfall Freestanding Tub Faucet weighs 8.1 pounds. This is heavier than the budget option, which weighs 6.81 pounds. The additional weight suggests a thicker brass construction for the top pick. You should consider if the floor can support the unit securely. A heavier base may also reduce vibration noise when the water is flowing at high pressure.
-
Verify the finish color
The finish affects how the fixture looks and how it resists water spots. Brushed nickel offers a matte appearance that hides fingerprints and water marks better than polished chrome. All three ALGRTS models listed share this brushed nickel finish. This consistency ensures the fixture matches other bathroom hardware if you have existing brushed nickel accents. You should confirm that the color tone complements your tub and flooring. The brushed texture also provides a non-slip grip when handling the controls during use.
