You will appreciate the dual drain system if you want quick water removal. The heated seat and ozone sterilization appeal to users who prioritize hygiene and comfort during long soaks. It fits well in bathrooms where a 32x52 footprint is available and accessibility is a key requirement.
Who should skip it
You should look at another option if you prefer a deep soaking tub with a high rim. This unit requires a step-in entry, which may not suit everyone’s preference. The 32-inch width is narrower than some standard alcove tubs, so check your space. If you do not need a walk-in design or heated seating, this model may include unnecessary features for your needs.
Verdict: The Ella Monaco delivers a secure bathing experience with robust therapeutic features. Its accessible design and dual massage systems make it a practical choice for safety-focused households.
Key specs explained
Type: walk-in tub
This design features a door that seals shut, allowing you to enter before filling the tub. You step over a low threshold instead of climbing over a high wall. This reduces the risk of slipping or falling during entry. It is ideal for those with limited mobility or balance issues who need a secure way to bathe without strain.
Length: 52 inches
The interior length provides ample space for your legs to stretch out comfortably. This dimension fits standard bathroom layouts while offering enough room to relax. You can compare this to smaller soaking tubs that may feel cramped. The 52-inch length ensures your body is fully supported without requiring an oversized footprint in your bathroom.
Jet Type: Air+Hydro Massage
This combination offers two distinct massage sensations in one unit. Air jets release bubbles for a gentle, soothing feel, while hydro jets provide targeted water pressure for deeper muscle relief. You can use them separately or together. This dual system allows you to customize your experience based on whether you want relaxation or therapeutic relief for sore muscles.
Width: 40 inches
The overall width includes the tub body and any protruding features. This measurement helps you plan your bathroom layout to ensure proper clearance for doors and fixtures. A 40-inch width is standard for this class of tub. You need to verify that this fits your available space alongside other bathroom elements like vanities or showers.
Design and Build Specs
The listing describes the Ella Monaco as a white acrylic walk-in tub. It measures 32 inches wide and 52 inches long. The overall height is 43 inches, while the unit itself stands 32 inches tall. The width of the external shell is listed at 40 inches. The total weight is 220 pounds. This mass suggests a sturdy construction that requires a reinforced floor. The footprint fits standard bathroom layouts, allowing for installation in typical residential spaces without major structural changes.
Inside, the layout centers on a 23-inch built-in seat. This width provides ample support for the back and legs. The entry features a low step-in threshold to minimize lifting your leg high. Two stainless-steel grab bars are mounted for stability. The floor is slip-resistant to reduce accident risks. These design choices prioritize safety and ease of use for older adults or those with mobility challenges.
Controls are positioned for accessibility. The air therapy system uses a three-speed push control. The hydro system includes an intensity dial. Both systems have independent drain openers with extended handles for easy grip. Dual drains with overflows help manage water levels efficiently. The finish is a smooth white surface that complements most bathroom decors. According to the listing, these materials and dimensions define the tub's physical presence and functional layout.
Setup and Daily Use Guide
Installation requires a standard bathroom footprint, as the unit measures 32 inches wide and 52 inches long. The external shell width is 40 inches, so you must verify your space allows for this clearance. The tub weighs 220 pounds, which is substantial for a walk-in model. You will need a floor that can support this static load during filling.
Daily operation centers on the dual massage systems. The air therapy system features 16 jets controlled by a three-speed push button. You can adjust airflow intensity easily. The hydrotherapy system includes 13 jets with an intensity control dial. It also has an in-line water heater, allowing you to maintain temperature without additional external equipment. Ozone sterilization is built into the water line for hygiene.
Safety features simplify entry and exit. The low step-in threshold and slip-resistant floor reduce tripping risks. Two stainless-steel grab bars provide stability. The seat is 23 inches wide, offering ample room. You control drainage via two independent openers with extended handles. This design lets you manage the dual 2-inch drains and overflows without bending down. The auto-purge function on the air system removes residual water from pipes after use. This helps prevent stagnation between baths. The model number OA3252DH-HB-R indicates the right-door configuration, so ensure your bathroom layout accommodates this orientation before finalizing your setup.
Before you buy this tub
You need to verify your bathroom dimensions carefully. The external shell is 40 inches wide, so ensure your space accommodates this clearance.
