Who it fits
Good fit for
You should consider this tub if you want a large, freestanding soaking tub that fits a modern bathroom layout. The 59.1-inch length offers ample space for full immersion. The stone resin material is easy to clean and resistant to chipping. If you prefer a matte white aesthetic that blends with various decor styles, this model fits well. The integrated drain simplifies maintenance. It suits buyers who value a heavy, stable tub that does not require wall mounting.
Who should skip it
Skip this option if you have a small bathroom, as the 59.1-inch length and 30.7-inch width require significant floor space. The 320-pound weight makes installation and moving difficult without professional help. If you prefer a glossy finish, the matte white surface may not meet your style preferences. Those needing a compact soaking tub under 55 inches should look elsewhere. The freestanding design also requires access to floor drains or plumbing connections on the floor.
Verdict: The MUIRYN 59" Stone Resin Freestanding Tub offers a spacious, durable soaking experience for larger bathrooms. Its heavy stone resin construction and modern oval design suit buyers seeking a stable, low-maintenance centerpiece.
Key specs explained
Length: 59.1 inches
This length offers ample room for full-body immersion without dominating a standard bathroom floor plan. You can stretch out comfortably during a soak. Compare this to smaller 54-inch tubs if you prefer a compact footprint, or larger 70-inch models if you need extra legroom for tall users.
Material: Stone Resin
Stone resin combines natural stone dust with resin to create a solid, durable surface. This material retains heat better than thin acrylic, keeping your bathwater warm longer. It also resists chipping and scratching. Choose this if you want a heavy, premium feel that mimics the look of natural stone.
Weight: 320 pounds
A weight of 320 pounds indicates a very heavy construction. This stability prevents wobbling during use but requires a floor capable of supporting the load. Ensure your bathroom structure can handle this mass. Lighter tubs under 150 pounds are easier to install but may feel less substantial.
Type: Freestanding
Freestanding tubs stand alone on the floor and do not attach to walls. This design allows you to place the tub in the center of the room or in a corner. It offers a modern, spa-like aesthetic. Unlike alcove tubs, you can view the tub from all angles.
Drain Location: Integrated slotted overflow
An integrated slotted overflow drain prevents water from spilling over the rim if you leave the tap running. This feature adds safety and convenience. It keeps the interior design clean by hiding the overflow opening. Check that your plumbing setup matches this specific drain configuration for proper installation.
Design and Build Quality
According to the listing, this tub is constructed from stone resin. This material choice provides a solid surface that feels durable and smooth. The finish is a matte white, which helps the oval shape blend into various bathroom styles without overwhelming the space. You get a sleek look that serves as a visual centerpiece, according to the product description.
The dimensions are specific: 59.1 inches long, 30.7 inches wide, and 22.1 inches high. These measurements create a spacious interior for full immersion. The weight is listed at 320 pounds. This significant mass ensures stability during use but requires a floor that can support the load. You must verify your bathroom floor structure before installation, as this is not a lightweight acrylic model.
Layout features include an integrated slotted overflow and drain. This design simplifies the interior profile, removing the need for separate overflow hardware. It also aids in easy cleaning, as there are fewer crevices for soap scum to accumulate. The freestanding mount type means you have flexibility in placement, provided you have access to plumbing lines. The stone resin construction promises long-lasting beauty, according to the brand, while the matte finish resists showing water spots compared to glossy surfaces.
Setup and everyday use
Setting up this freestanding tub requires careful planning due to its substantial weight. The listing specifies a weight of 320 pounds. You must ensure your bathroom floor can support this load. The tub stands alone, so you need to position it away from walls to maintain its freestanding design. This placement allows you to access the integrated slotted overflow and drain easily. Because the unit is 59.1 inches long and 30.7 inches wide, you need sufficient floor space. Measure your room to confirm the oval shape fits without blocking other fixtures. The height of 22.1 inches is a practical level for entry and exit for most adults. Daily use is straightforward thanks to the stone resin construction. This material is described as durable and easy to clean. You can wipe down the matte white surface without special treatments. The solid surface resists stains and maintains its smooth finish over time. The spacious interior accommodates full immersion, which supports a relaxing routine. The integrated drain system simplifies water management, reducing the chance of leaks or clogs. You do not need complex tools for basic maintenance. Just rinse the tub after use to keep it looking new. The contemporary design remains a visual centerpiece without requiring extra decor. This tub suits those who want a low-maintenance soaking experience. It fits well in modern bathrooms where clean lines matter. The stone resin material ensures long-lasting beauty with minimal effort.
Before You Buy This Tub
Before you buy, check your plumbing compatibility. This tub features an integrated slotted overflow and drain, but you must supply the separate drain assembly and P-trap. Verify that your existing pipes align with standard configurations. The matte white stone resin finish looks clean, but it requires gentle care. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could dull the surface or scratch the smooth texture. Use mild soap and a soft cloth for regular maintenance. Because it weighs 320 pounds, ensure your floor structure can support this load without reinforcement. Compare this 59-inch model to larger 70-inch options if you need more immersion space, or smaller 55-inch versions for tighter layouts. This tub suits those who want a modern centerpiece without the bulk of a larger acrylic or cast iron alternative. It fits well in contemporary bathrooms where a solid surface material is preferred for its durability and ease of upkeep.
Check before you buy
- Verify floor load capacity for the 320-pound weight.
