Who it fits
Good fit for
You should consider this tub if you want a deep soak in a standard-sized bathroom. The 55-gallon capacity suits one-person bathing, and the 59-inch length fits most spaces. The double-walled design helps retain water temperature. If you prefer a low-maintenance surface that resists stains and scratches, the high-gloss acrylic finish is practical. The included chrome drain and overflow simplify the initial setup. It is a solid choice for those prioritizing capacity and durability over complex features.
Who should skip it
You might look elsewhere if you need a tub for multiple people, as the 55-gallon capacity is optimized for one person. The listing does not mention a built-in faucet or jets, so you must purchase a separate filler. If you prefer a matte black or brushed gold finish, note that the primary model shown has chrome accents. Additionally, if you require a longer warranty than the one-year limited support, this option may not meet your needs. The installation requires a specific drain setup included in the package.
Verdict: The WOODBRIDGE 59" Freestanding Soaking Tub offers strong soaking capacity and durable acrylic construction for individual use. It suits buyers seeking a deep, temperature-retentive bath in a standard bathroom footprint.
Key specs explained for this tub
Type: freestanding
This tub stands independently on the floor, requiring no surrounding cabinetry or wall support. You can place it anywhere with access to plumbing. This style suits modern bathrooms where you want a standalone focal point. It differs from alcove or drop-in models that rely on fixed walls. The freestanding design offers flexibility in layout and often provides a more luxurious visual presence in the room.
Length: 59 inches
At 59 inches long, this tub accommodates most adult body sizes comfortably. You can stretch out fully without your feet hanging over the edge. This length is standard for soaking tubs and fits well in average to large bathrooms. Smaller tubs may feel cramped, while larger ones might not fit smaller spaces. This dimension ensures a balanced fit for most standard bathroom footprints.
Material: acrylic
Constructed from 100% high-gloss LUCITE acrylic, this material is lightweight yet durable. It retains heat better than cast iron, keeping your bathwater warm longer. The smooth surface is easy to clean and resists discoloration. Acrylic is also less prone to chipping compared to porcelain. This makes it a practical choice for daily use, offering a balance of comfort, maintenance ease, and thermal efficiency for soaking.
Water Capacity: 55-gallon
With a 55-gallon effective soaking capacity, this tub holds enough water for a deep, immersive soak. You can submerge your body fully, which aids relaxation and muscle relief. This volume is suitable for one-person bathing, as noted in the reinforced design. It is less than some large soaking tubs but sufficient for most users. Ensure your plumbing can handle this fill volume for optimal performance.
Design and Build Quality
The listing states the tub is constructed from 100% high-gloss white LUCITE acrylic. This material is reinforced with ASHLAND resin and fiberglass. This combination provides superior strength and durability compared to standard acrylic. The surface is slip-resistant and meets ASTM standards. It remains smooth and easy to clean while resisting discoloration over time. You get a stain-resistant and scratch-resistant finish that maintains its high-gloss appearance with low maintenance.
The structure features a double-walled reinforced design. A stainless steel bottom bracket supports up to 1000 lbs. This heavy-duty construction helps retain water temperature longer, which is ideal for one-person bathing. The ergonomic design includes gently sloped lines that follow the natural curves of the body. This layout combines luxury aesthetics with soaking comfort. The exterior dimensions are 59 inches long, 29.5 inches wide, and 23.14 inches deep.
You receive an all-in-one package that includes a solid chrome brass drain and a stainless steel chrome overflow. The listing notes compliance with CSA B45.5-17 and IAPMO Z124-2017 standards. It is also approved by the Massachusetts Plumbing Code. You get a one-year limited warranty and US-based customer support. The tub is available in different heights and finish options for the overflow, including matte black or brushed nickel. These choices let you match your existing bathroom hardware.
Setup and Daily Use Guide
The listing includes an installation manual and secure packaging to help ensure safe delivery. You will receive a solid chrome brass drain and a stainless steel chrome overflow. These components are part of the all-in-one package. This setup approach simplifies the initial plumbing connection. The tub stands independently, so you must position it near existing water lines. The double-walled reinforced design supports up to 1000 lbs. This structural capacity allows for a full fill without worry. The stainless steel bottom bracket provides stability. The 55-gallon effective soaking capacity means you need adequate water pressure to fill it efficiently. The double-wall construction also helps retain water temperature longer. This feature is useful for one-person bathing sessions. Daily maintenance is straightforward. The high-gloss white LUCITE acrylic surface is stain-resistant and scratch-resistant. You can clean it easily without damaging the finish. The slip-resistant surface meets ASTM standards, enhancing safety while remaining smooth. The ergonomic design follows natural body curves, which aids in comfortable positioning. Compliance with CSA B45.5-17 and IAPMO Z124-2017 standards indicates adherence to safety norms. Massachusetts Plumbing Code approval suggests it meets regional regulatory requirements. You benefit from a 1-year limited warranty and US-based customer support if issues arise. The chrome finish on the hardware complements the white acrylic. This combination keeps the aesthetic clean. You do not need special cleaners for the acrylic. A soft cloth and mild soap suffice for routine cleaning. The low-maintenance nature of the material reduces long-term effort.
Before you buy this tub
You need to verify your bathroom layout before ordering. The exterior dimensions are 59 inches long, 29.5 inches wide, and 23.4 inches deep. Ensure you have enough floor space for this freestanding unit. You must also confirm your plumbing can connect to the included chrome brass drain and stainless steel overflow. The listing offers variations in filler style, so you must decide if you need the tub only or a complete set with a faucet. This choice affects your installation complexity. Daily upkeep is straightforward due to the stain-resistant acrylic surface. You can clean it easily without special products. When comparing this to other soaking tubs in the category, note its 55-gallon capacity. This volume supports deep, individual immersion. Other models may offer different shapes or materials.
