Who it fits
Good fit for
This tub suits buyers who want a freestanding focal point in a spacious bathroom. The 59-inch length and 55-gallon capacity appeal to those prioritizing deep soaking over compact footprints. The clawfoot design with polished gold accents fits traditional or luxury decor styles. If you need a tub that supports heavier loads or retains heat well, this double-walled acrylic model delivers on those specs. It is also a good choice if you prefer a slipper design that cradles the body.
Who should skip it
Look elsewhere if you have a tight bathroom layout. The 59-inch length and nearly 29-inch width require significant floor space. The clawfoot design elevates the tub, which may not suit users who prefer a lower entry point. If you want a modern minimalist look without visible feet, this traditional style may not fit your aesthetic. Additionally, if you need a tub that fits into a standard alcove, this freestanding model is not designed for that installation type.
Verdict: The WOODBRIDGE 59" Acrylic Clawfoot Tub offers substantial capacity and durable construction for those with the space. Its double-walled design and high weight limit make it a practical choice for regular use.
Woodbridge 59 Tub Key Specs
Type: clawfoot
This mount type means the tub stands on legs rather than being built into a floor or deck. You place it freely in your bathroom. This style suits renters or those who want a focal point. It requires clear floor space underneath. Compare this to alcove or drop-in models that need structural support walls for installation and stability.
Length: 59 inches
This length provides ample room for most adults to stretch out. You can fully submerge your body without your head touching the rim. This size fits standard bathroom layouts. It is longer than compact soaking tubs but shorter than some large freestanding models. Check your floor plan to ensure you have enough clearance for access and door swing.
Material: acrylic
Acrylic is a non-porous plastic that feels smooth and warm to the touch. It resists stains and scratches better than older materials. The surface is easy to clean with mild soap. It retains heat better than cast iron or steel. This material offers a balance of durability and lightweight handling compared to heavier stone or metal alternatives.
Water Capacity: 55 Gallons
This volume holds a significant amount of water for deep soaking. You can fill it completely for a full-body immersion experience. This capacity is typical for soaking tubs but higher than standard shower-tub combos. It requires a drain system that can handle the volume. Consider your water heater capacity to ensure it can replenish the hot water efficiently after draining.
Design and Build Quality
The listing states this tub is made from 100% high gloss white LUCITE acrylic. This material is reinforced with ASHLAND resin and fiberglass. According to the listing, these are premium materials that cost more than standard options. The double-walled design provides insulation to keep water warm longer. The bottom includes a stainless steel bracket. This support structure allows a bearing capacity of up to 1,000 pounds. You get a durable shell that resists stains and scratches. The surface maintains its high gloss with minimal maintenance. You can clean it easily without special products.
The exterior finish features polished gold feet and a matching brass drain and overflow. These hardware pieces are included in the package. The tub is available in other finishes like oil rubbed bronze or matte black. The slipper design offers gently sloping lines. These curves follow the natural shape of your body. This layout provides comfort for soaking. The ample size fits various bathroom spaces without being too large.
The clawfoot mount type means the tub stands on legs. You place it freely in your bathroom rather than building it into a deck. This style suits renters or those who want a standalone focal point. The package includes a user manual and firm carton for safe transport. The tub meets US and Canada plumbing standards. You can rely on US-based product support for any queries. The design balances luxury with practical installation needs.
Setup and Daily Use Guide
Setting up this WOODBRIDGE tub begins with unpacking the solid carton box. The package includes the white acrylic tub, polished gold feet, and a matching brass drain and overflow. You will need to attach the four polished gold feet to the bottom of the tub. The listing notes the bottom features a stainless steel bracket. This bracket supports a bearing capacity of up to 1000 lbs. Ensure the feet are secure before filling the tub. The double-walled design helps keep water at your desired temperature longer. This insulation is useful for long soaks in the 55-gallon capacity.
Daily use is straightforward. The EnduraClean surface is stain-resistant and scratch-resistant. You can clean it easily to maintain its high gloss finish. The smooth acrylic surface allows for quick wiping without special treatments. The slipper design offers gently sloping lines that follow your body’s natural curves. This provides comfort during use. The 59-inch length and 28 7/8-inch width fit a variety of bathroom spaces. You do not need to build it into a floor or deck. The clawfoot style allows you to place it freely in your room.
The tub complies with US and Canada standards. It meets the Massachusetts Plumbing and Gas Code. This suggests it works with standard plumbing fixtures. The polished gold drain and overflow match the feet. You can choose other finishes like oil rubbed bronze or matte black if preferred. The US-based support team is available for product queries. Keep the surface clean to preserve its bright appearance over time.
Before You Buy This Tub
Before adding this WOODBRIDGE model to your bathroom, verify your floor can support the weight. The listing notes a bearing capacity of up to 1000 lbs due to the stainless steel bracket and double-walled design. You must ensure your flooring is level and strong enough for a clawfoot tub of this mass. Check that your existing drain aligns with the included brass drain and overflow in polished gold finish. If your bathroom uses a different drain style, you may need an adapter. Daily care involves wiping the EnduraClean surface to maintain its high gloss. This acrylic resists stains and scratches, keeping the tub bright. This heavy-duty acrylic option stands out among the 1 choices for its robust construction. It suits those prioritizing durability and classic clawfoot aesthetics over modern built-in styles. Ensure your space accommodates the 59-inch length and 28 7/8-inch width comfortably.
